Man baute die Aluminium K\u00f6pfe und die Dell`Orto-Doppelvergaser der XR 750 auf ein modifiziertes Unterteil eines XL 1000 Motors. Das Ergebnis war: das schnellste Serien Motorrad das Harley bis anhin je gebaut hat. 1984 gewann Gene Church das &#8222;Battle of Twins&#8220; Rennen in Daytona auf einer stark frisierten (112 PS) XR 1000 und verteidigte den Titel in den n\u00e4chsten beiden Jahren.<\/p>\n<p>Die wenig produzierten XR 1000 sind heute Sammlerst\u00fccke.
